Travel to and Vacation in Beech Mountain

We are all gearing up toward welcoming our new and experienced visitors, summer residents and new homeowners to Beech Mountain.  Despite some hail storms and even snow (yes, we had snow yesterday and Monday!), things are bright and beautiful on Beech Mountain.

There are various publications online that will educate those looking to travel to North Carolina.  The NC Division of Tourism is one such site.  For the April issue, click on http://www.nccommerce.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=LL0EuHQEHFM%3d&tabid=668&mid=2764

There is also an excellent article in the May 2012 US Airways magazine.  I am trying to get a copy of the article via a link or pdf and will share that if I can get it.  Otherwise, the Chamber should have a copy in their office.  Stop by and take a look at it if you have a chance.

There are many events planned for Beech Mountain so plan your vacation to come take advantage of those events you may be interested in.  A full list and dates for the events can be found at the Chamber website, http://beechmountainchamber.com/.  Scroll down and look on the right side.  New events are being added by our various restaurants, general mercantile, hotels, etc. For instance, outdoor movies around two fire pits will continue at the Brick Oven Pizzeria this summer.....Live concerts will continue at the gazebo by Fred's General Mercantile and the Alpen Inn.....the Cool 5 - a 5k race/walk/stroll and the National Gravity Nationals offer both spectator and participant activities.....our Roasting of the Hog occurs on June 30th this year with great food, fireworks, a live band and great fun for all.....The Summer of 79 continues for Stay and Play - a chance for those visitors staying in a qualified Beech Mountain Club property to play the private, tournament quality golf course for $60 - and it's FREE if the temperature exceeds 79 degrees at our official weather station, located at Fred's General Mercantile.

Stay tuned for the latest and greatest happenings on Beech Mountain this summer.  Hope to see you soon!
