Hiking on Beech Mountain
December 19, 2008
Hiking isn't just for summer in the mountains. Though the air temperature was 46 degrees on Friday, it was a great day for hiking along the streams around the mountain. The snow melt created some spectacular waterfalls along the way.

Seasons greeting Ms. Canady, you took some great shots. I envy you in that you live in those wonderful magical, mystical mountains of NC. I haven't been up there in almost 6 years, and I miss the place very much. I'm a 57 year old widower, and my plans are to move up there when I file for my wife's SSI when I turn 60 in 39 more months. I figure I must have some income in order to move at least until I could find work up there. I will sell my home here and hopefully have a little log cabin built. Seems the older I get the less I need. Please keep posting pictures for there are days when I get home from work that seeing such beauty keeps my hopes alive of fulfilling that dream. Have a great new year. Rick Sheafer Sanford Florida
Thank you, Rick, for your kind comments. I wish you much luck with the ultimate sale of your home and move to our high country. Looking forward to meeting you when you next visit.
Anonymous - I have inquired into your question of 12-31. Currently, Joe Perry is acting Town Manager while interviews are going on to find a permanent replacement for Michael Boaz.

Who is running the Town and what are the plans for hiring a Town Manager?
